When comparing Skratch vs LMNT, there are several things you could look at, including sugar, calories, flavor, ingredients, and price.

But this comparison looks at electrolytes only.

For a consistent comparison, I’m using Skratch Labs Hydration Sport Drink Mix and standard LMNT Drink Mix. Skratch provides 400 mg sodium, 50 mg potassium, 50 mg calcium, and 50 mg magnesium per serving, while LMNT provides 1,000 mg sodium, 200 mg potassium, and 60 mg magnesium. (Skratch Labs; LMNT)

Skratch vs LMNT Electrolytes

ElectrolyteSkratch Hydration Sport Drink MixLMNT Drink Mix
Sodium400 mg1,000 mg
Potassium50 mg200 mg
Magnesium50 mg60 mg
Calcium50 mgNot listed

Skratch’s current Hydration Sport Drink Mix lists 400 mg sodium, 50 mg potassium, 50 mg calcium, and 50 mg magnesium per serving. (Skratch Labs)

LMNT lists 1,000 mg sodium, 200 mg potassium, and 60 mg magnesium per stick. (LMNT)

Sodium

Sodium is the biggest difference between Skratch and LMNT.

Skratch Hydration Sport Drink Mix provides 400 mg of sodium per serving. (Skratch Labs)

LMNT provides 1,000 mg of sodium per stick. (LMNT)

That gives LMNT 600 mg more sodium, or 2.5 times the amount in Skratch per labeled serving.

Potassium

The potassium difference also favors LMNT.

Skratch provides 50 mg potassium per serving, while LMNT provides 200 mg. (Skratch Labs; LMNT)

So LMNT contains 150 mg more potassium, or four times as much.

Potassium: LMNT

Magnesium

Magnesium is much closer between the two formulas.

Skratch provides 50 mg magnesium, while LMNT provides 60 mg. (Skratch Labs; LMNT)

That is only a 10 mg difference.

Magnesium: LMNT

Calcium

Calcium is where the comparison changes.

Skratch Hydration Sport Drink Mix provides 50 mg of calcium per serving. (Skratch Labs)

Standard LMNT lists sodium, potassium, and magnesium as its core electrolytes, but does not list calcium as a meaningful amount in the standard formula. (LMNT)

Calcium: Skratch

Looking at the Electrolytes Together

The complete comparison looks like this:

Skratch Hydration Sport Drink Mix

  • Sodium: 400 mg
  • Potassium: 50 mg
  • Magnesium: 50 mg
  • Calcium: 50 mg

LMNT

  • Sodium: 1,000 mg
  • Potassium: 200 mg
  • Magnesium: 60 mg
  • Calcium: Not listed

The main difference is therefore not that one product dominates every electrolyte.

LMNT is much higher in sodium and potassium and slightly higher in magnesium, while Skratch provides calcium that LMNT does not list.

Sodium-to-Potassium Profile

The balance between sodium and potassium is also noticeably different.

Skratch provides:

400 mg sodium vs 50 mg potassium

LMNT provides:

1,000 mg sodium vs 200 mg potassium

That makes both formulas sodium-heavy, but LMNT is substantially more concentrated in sodium.

The difference matters because sodium accounts for the largest numerical gap between the two products.

What About Calcium?

Skratch is unusual in this comparison because it includes calcium alongside sodium, potassium, and magnesium.

Its Hydration Sport Drink Mix provides 50 mg calcium per serving. (Skratch Labs)

LMNT’s standard electrolyte formula is built around sodium, potassium, and magnesium rather than calcium. LMNT’s own formulation information specifies 1,000 mg sodium, 200 mg potassium, and 60 mg magnesium. (LMNT)

So if calcium is part of the electrolyte profile you’re looking for, Skratch has an advantage here.

Does Serving Size Matter?

Yes.

Skratch recommends mixing its Hydration Sport Drink Mix with approximately 12–16 fl oz of water. (Skratch Labs)

LMNT provides its electrolyte amounts per stick, with each stick containing 1,000 mg sodium, 200 mg potassium, and 60 mg magnesium. (LMNT)

So the table above compares one labeled serving of each product, not identical volumes of finished drink.

That matters because electrolyte content per serving and electrolyte concentration per ounce are two different measurements.

Skratch Has More Than One Hydration Formula

Skratch Labs sells multiple hydration products, so the exact electrolyte numbers depend on which one you’re comparing.

For example, Skratch’s Unsweetened Hydration Sport Drink Mix provides 400 mg sodium, 100 mg potassium, 50 mg magnesium, and 50 mg calcium per serving. (Skratch Labs)

That is different from the standard Hydration Sport Drink Mix used in this comparison, which lists 400 mg sodium, 50 mg potassium, 50 mg magnesium, and 50 mg calcium. (Skratch Labs)

So you should always check the exact Skratch product when comparing electrolyte amounts.

For this article, the comparison is specifically:

The Bottom Line

If you compare Skratch vs LMNT based only on electrolytes, LMNT provides more sodium, potassium, and magnesium, while Skratch provides calcium that isn’t listed in standard LMNT.

Skratch Hydration Sport Drink Mix:

  • 400 mg sodium
  • 50 mg potassium
  • 50 mg magnesium
  • 50 mg calcium

LMNT:

  • 1,000 mg sodium
  • 200 mg potassium
  • 60 mg magnesium
  • Calcium not listed

(Skratch Labs; LMNT)

The biggest difference is sodium: LMNT has 600 mg more sodium per labeled serving.

Potassium also differs substantially, with LMNT providing four times as much, while magnesium is much closer.

So the simplest electrolyte-only conclusion is:

Skratch vs LMNT: LMNT has the higher amounts of sodium, potassium, and magnesium, while Skratch adds calcium to its electrolyte profile.
